Book Review: The Creation Hypothesis: Scientific Evidence for an Intelligent Designer

Author: J.P. Moreland et al.
Spiritual Bias: Christian
Origins Bias: Creationist
Rating: Middle of the Road
Level: Intermediate

Comments: This book is a conglomeration of essays written by several notables from the pro-creation camp. Some of these authors include Hugh Ross, William Dembski, Charles B. Thaxton, and Walter Bradley. Half of the essays deal with scientific philosophy and the other half deal with the scientific evidence which supports the theory of creation. I thought that the philosophical essays were a bit dry and difficult to parse but the essays which focused on the scientific evidence were clear and stimulating. One essay in particular bears special mention. John W. Oller Jr. and John L. Omdahl have written a very good work on the origin of the human language capacity. This is a topic that is rarely addressed in creationist literature and should get more time. Overall I'd recommend this book but have some reservations since I typically favor single author books rather than composite efforts.
