Author: Dr. Hugh Ross
Spiritual Bias: Christian
Origins Bias: Progressive Old Earth Creationist
Rating: Top Shelf
Level: Intermediate
Comments: In this book, Hugh does an excellent job of harmonizing scripture with Science. It is very clear to read and easily understandable. He takes a "day" by "day" view of the Creation as described in the book of Genesis and explains how modern science aligns very well with scripture. Ross also spends a good portion of the book defending some of the common criticisms of Genesis such as where did Cain get his wife, gaps in the genealogical record, the size of Noah's ark, and the existence of bipedal primates. Although many Young Earth Creationists consider Ross's teachings to be heretical, I consider his efforts in the Christian cause to be worthy of great recognition.
Summary Quote: "..one Bible portion draws more vigorous attack than all others combined: the first few chapters of Genesis. That attack opens a tremendous door of opportunity for me - and for every other believer who knows even a little about the scientific discoveries of the past few decades. Instead of offering an excuse for unbelief and rejection, these chapters offer some of the most persuasive proofs ever assembled for the supernatural authorship and authority of the Bible."
