Book Review: Intelligent Design: The Bridge Between Science & Theology

Author: Dr. William A Dembski
Spiritual Bias: Christian
Origins Bias: Creationist
Rating: Middle of the Road
Level: Advanced

Comments: In this book Dembski makes a formal argument for the scientific acceptance of Intelligent Design theory. He shows that we can reliably detect design in the universe citing examples from the field of Information Theory including the method that SETI uses to detect intelligence. He also demonstrates that random processes and natural laws cannot create the information that we find in living things. I found the book to contain lots of good information (no pun intended) but felt that the book struggled with transitions and did not flow as well as I hoped it would. Also most readers will find some of the mathematical parts of the book difficult to handle. These are the reasons that I have given this book a rating of just "Middle of the Road." I do believe and predict that the field of Information Theory will be the ultimate downfall of naturalistic Darwinism and am grateful for books like this.
