Comments: This book is required reading if you are interested in the topic of origins. Darwin is a good writer and clearly articulates why he believes that species have not individually been created but are the result of descent with modifications. After reading the first few chapters it will become clear to the reader that he was a very intelligent man with much exposure to many fields of science. Of course scientists today have a lot more data available to them than Darwin did and that will show when reading different sections of the treatise. For example, his discussions of the fossils record and embryos are representative of *old* science. In any case I believe that Darwin makes a strong case for evolution being the cause of speciation for some species. If you're a creationist it will certainly force you to think - which is always a good thing.
