Book Review: Creation and Time: A Biblical and Scientific Perspective on the Creation-Date Controversy

Author: Dr. Hugh Ross
Spiritual Bias: Christian
Origins Bias: Old Earth Creationist
Rating: Top Shelf
Level: Intermediate

Comments: As the subtitle suggests the the author discusses the entire creation date issue. Is the earth 6,000 years old or on the order of 15 billion years old. Hugh Ross explains the different historical interpretations of the age of the creation, discusses the scientific evidence for both young and old earth/universe interpretations, and attempts to harmonize the accepted scientific antiquity of the creation with scripture. This is an excellent book and is considered a must read for anyone interested in origins.

Summary Quote: "Science is an attempt to interpret the facts of nature. Christian theology is an attempt to interpret the words of the Bible. Since, according to that theology, God created the Universe and is also responsible for the words of the Bible, and since He does not lie or deceive, there can be no contradiction between the words of the Bible and the facts of nature. Any conflict between science and Christian theology must be attributed to human misinterpretation."
